David Samuel Epps, II, 59, of Kingstree, husband of Joyce Hudson Epps, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, after a sudden illness. Mr. Epps was born December 12, 1957, in Kingstree, a son of the late LeRoy Snider Epps, Jr. and Betty Lou Graves Epps. He was a 1980 graduate of the Citadel, where he was a member of the elite unit, The Summerall Guard. After earning a degree in Civil Engineering, David worked as a civil engineer and contractor with the US Navy. David was a member of Inglesby Masonic Lodge in Greeleyville, an avid hunter, golfer, former skydiver and author of several books, including “Sword Drill”. Surviving, in addition to his wife Joyce, are: his son, David Samuel Epps, III of N. Charleston; his daughter, Taylor Elizabeth Epps of Mt. Pleasant; his sister, Debbie Epps (David) Ipock of Kingstree; his brother, LeRoy Snider Epps, III of Charleston; grandchildren, Alexis and Carson Holladay of Ninety-Six and Kaylee Rose and Olivia Holladay of Cades; and his wife’s children, Eric (Tina) Holladay of Ninety-Six, Ryan (Suzanne) Holladay of Cades and Angie (Chris) Brown of Lake City. Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in the chapel at Williamsburg Funeral Home, with burial in New Market Cemetery, Greeleyville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to any charity of your choice .
