David Montague Jacobs, II, 33, of Charleston, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, in a Charleston hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident.Mr. Jacobs was born April 15, 1976, in Sumter, a son of David Montague Jacobs, Sr. and Carmela Scaffidi Jacobs. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and The Citadel, class of 1998, (the last all male class). He was the purchasing agent for Service Industrial Supplies. While at Williamsburg Academy, his football jersey #63 was retired by the school. At The Citadel, he was the starting offensive left tackle for the Bulldogs. David loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.He was a member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church.Surviving, in addition to his parents, David and Candy Jacobs of Kingstree, are two brothers, whom he loved dearly, David Terrell Jacobs of Effingham and David Angelo Jacobs of Kingstree; his adopted grandmother, Ann Michael of Reading, PA; 6 aunts; 1 uncle; 1 nephew; and 4 nieces who were very special to him.Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kingstree Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Dennis Nolen and Chaplin Joel C. Harris. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
