David Arnold Soberg, age 74, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in San Antonio. He was born August 25, 1938 in Birmingham, Alabama to Arnold Melvin and Pauline Sorrell Soberg. He graduated from Murphy High School, Mobile, Alabama in 1957 and then from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina in 1961. Shortly thereafter he was commissioned in the US Army Medical Service Corp, where he served as Patient Administration Officer. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak leaf Cluster), Meritorious Unit Commendation (1st, Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation and the Legion of Merit. He retired from the Army in 1988 after 24 years of honorable service, with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He and his wife opened Minuteman Press in San Antonio, which they ran successfully for many years before retiring again. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Ann Soberg; and his parents, Arnold Melvin Soberg and Pauline Sorrell Soberg. David is survived by his sister, Anna Bess Tisdale, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. GRAVESIDE SERVICE THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2012 10:00 A.M. FT.
