Daniel Kelly Young, Jr., 77, died October 23, 2011, in Atlanta. Born to Lorene Spivey and Daniel Kelly Young in Winter Haven, FL, he graduated from North Fulton High School and The Citadel, Charleston, SC, as a Distinguished Military Student. He and Mary Clinton Rector, who preceded him in death, were married June 8, 1956. He served as an Army Officer in Germany and was a Delta Airlines Employee for 22 years. In retirement, he served as a Zoo Atlanta Volunteer. He and his wife were active at St. James United Methodist Church, Atlanta. He is survived by a niece, Holley Rector Evans, Dallas, TX, and a nephew, Richard M. Rector, Marietta, GA. The body was donated to the Emory University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 30 at St. James United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30342.
