Daniel Braxton Berry, 82, of 102 Clubhouse Circle, St. George, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at The Veteran’s Victory House, Walterboro. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel, St. George, with Pastor Theron Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Martin, Chris Minus, Eric Gruber, Ronnie Judy, Kevin Hartzog and Stanley Gruber. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home. Dan was born on September 8, 1930 in St. George, a son of the late William Rhettman and Carrie Smoak Berry. He served in the Korean War as a First Lieutenant in the US Army, a 1952 graduate of The Citadel and a Civil Engineer and Naval Architect with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the St. George United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 105. He was predeceased by a brother, William Rhettman Berry, Jr. Surviving is a son, Dr. Daniel Braxton (Kelly) Berry, Bellevue, Ohio; a daughter, Crystye B. (Kitt) Dukes, St. George; grandchildren, Samantha (Rick) Martin, Nichole (Chris) Minus, Adrienne (Eric) Gruber, all of St. George, Claire Berry, Braxton Berry, both of Bellevue, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Taylor Martin, Thomas Daniel Martin and Danna Gruber; step-son, Ronald Glen (Terry) Walters, Hollywood, Maryland and a step-daughter, Debra (Ken) West, Palm Beach Gardens.
