WILLIAMS, Dameron H. Foots – Passed away peacefully on January 15, 2004 in Santa Rosa at age 80. Dameron is survived by his wife, Ann L. Williams; his children, Bruce Williams, Carolyn Graham, Grant Williams; nephew and niece, Lee and Ruthie Bulwinkle. Dameron was born in Gastonia, N.C. in 1923 and graduated from the Citadel Military College in S.C., class of 1944. He was proud to serve his country in World War II as a First Lieutenant commanding the Parachute Engineer Unit in the 127th Airborne Battalion. After the war, he headed west to earn a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley. Dameron married the lovely Ann Hagen in 1949 and they settled in San Francisco to raise their family. Dameron worked as an engineer before launching into a new career, first, in the life insurance business, and later, financial planning. He was a member of Rotary for many years and valued his relationships with fellow Rotarians and the many community service programs Rotary supports. Dameron was an avid reader and a lifelong learner and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his keen and inquiring mind with others. Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 2:00 at the chapel at Spring Lake Village, 5555 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa. A reception will held in the banquet room following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Club’s Dictionary for Kids Project, P.O. Box 505, Santa Rosa, CA 95402-0505.
