Charles Robert Jeffrey, 80, of Bradenton, FL died January 6, 2010 at home. Born June 4, 1929 in Linden, NJ, he resided in Bradenton for the last three years, prior to that he lived in Metuchen since 1967. He graduated from The Citadel, class of 1950 where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was the owner and president of Jeffrey and Kula Engineering in Metuchen, which he later sold to Brownworth Engineering in Piscataway, continuing to work there for a few years. Charles also enjoyed traveling and playing golf. He was a Captain in the US Army during the Korean War serving as a Combat Engineer, receiving two Bronze Stars. He is preceded in death by his wife Jean Jeffrey, who died in 1993. He is survived by Son Robert Jeffrey and his wife Riva of Annandale, NJ; Daughter Lairen Shaw of Gilbert, AZ; Four grandchildren Andrew and Daniel Shaw, Sharon Harber and Jill Kirkwood; Brother Doughlas Jeffrey of R.I. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday at 10:00am from Flynn And Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, N.J. 08840. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
