Charles Lamar (Charlie) Yeomans III, of Hampton, SC died Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 at the age of 73. Born November 30th, 1938 in Greenville County, South Carolina he was the son of the late Charles Lamar Yeomans, Jr. and Margaret Hodges Yeomans. A 1960 graduate of The Citadel, he served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War . He later continued his education with a Juris Doctorate from The University of South Carolina. Mr. Yeomans has practiced law in Hampton, South Carolina since 1971. He served as a municipal court judge in Brunson, Hampton, and Edisto Beach, SC. He was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Lodge, life member of Scottish Rite and Yorkrite Masons, Potentate of Omar Temple, Member of the Jahab Shrine Club, Temple Attorney for Omar Temple, life member of Jamil, Hejaz, Sudan and Beni Kenan Temples, Cabiri Past Potentates, Emeritus board member of Shriner’s Hospital for Children, past Director of Royal Order of Jesters, Emeritus Representative to Jesters, member of Juris Prudence and Laws committee of Jesters, lifetime member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and a lifetime member of the Association of Citadel Men. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and loved the South Carolina Lowcountry. He is survived by his wife, Deane Haigler Yeomans, his sister Susan Yeomans, his children, Beth Yeomans Woods and husband Eric, Margaret Yeomans Gierhart and husband Bert, Charles Yeomans, IV and wife Laura, and his grandchildren, Haigler Woods, Reece Woods, Elise Gierhart and Edon Gierhart. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning April 25th, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. in the Varnville United Methodist Church, Varnville, SC conducted by the Rev. E. Rossiter Chellis and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Varnville Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Friends may call at the church located at 104 Main St., Varnville, SC, one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:30 A.M.
