ROOKE, Buddy Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of April 15, 2007, Charles Ervin Buddy Rooke, widower of Martha Barton Rooke. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in Citadel Square Baptist Church, two o’clock Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Tuesday between five and seven o’clock. Mr. Rooke was born May 16, 1939 in Columbia, SC, the son of Charles Amos Rooke and Blanche Price Rooke. He was President of St. Andrews High School Class of 1957, a member of The Citadel Class of 1961 and a graduate of Wofford College. He was an officer of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, served as Chairman of Church Council and Chairman of Deacon’s. He was a retired Realtor, builder and developer of residential homes. He was a former Vice President of Charleston Trident Association of Realtors and a certified instructor of The Graduate Realtors Institute of SC. He is survived by three daughters: Cheryl Rooke Lewis and her husband Gray of Charleston, SC, M. Allison Rooke of Charleston, SC, and Elizabeth Rooke Morris of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren: Morgan Elizabeth Lewis, Colin Rooke Morris and Victoria England Lewis; Step-Mother: Ruby M. Rooke of Charleston, SC; Step-brother: G. Curtis Martin and his wife Emily of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Mother-in-Law: Marjorie England Barton of Elberton, GA; Brother-in-Law: Bill Barton and his wife Diana of Marietta, GA; Niece: Deborah P. Barton of Dallas, GA.
