Catherine Hudson Cahill, 55, wife of Joseph F. Cahill, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Born August 10, 1954, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Forrest M. Hudson, Jr. and Dorothy Bown Hudson. Cathy was a 1972 graduate (Salutatorian) of Bishop England High School. She graduated in 1975 (Salutatorian) from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and later received her MBA from the Citadel. She began her career with Leon Watson Tax Services. After obtaining her CPA, Cathy worked for Schleeter, Monsen and Debacker Accountants, and later became the Assistant Comptroller for St. Francis Xavier Hospital. She then worked for Allergy Asthma & Urticaria Centers of Charleston until her retirement in 2002. Cathy also served on the board of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy. Cathy traveled extensively within the U.S. as well as abroad. She particularly looked forward to cruising the many waters of the world. She also enjoyed listening to classical music and going to theatrical events. Cathy was preceded in death by her son, Christopher in 2002. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 34 years; her sisters, Karen H. Rankine of Mt. Pleasant, Joanie H. Prentice (Jack) of Isle of Palms, Mary Louise Hudson of Isle of Palms, and Elizabeth H. Schmitt (Larry) of Bath, NC; her brothers, Mark A. J. Hudson (Maria) of Isle of Palms, Forrest M. Hudson, III (Cecelia) of Trent Woods, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, William P. Cahill (Nena) of Charlotte, NC and John T. Cahill (Elizabeth) of Greenwich, CT; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, June 14, 2010, from 5-8 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 5 p.m., at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1520 RIFLE RANGE RD. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 15, at 11 a.m., at Christ Our King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
