Carolyn Pitts Weader, 75, wife of Rod Weader, of North Charleston, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
The relatives and friends of Carolyn Weader are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Bethany United Methodist Church, Spell Chapel. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Charleston Animal Society.
Carolyn was born in Cleburne, Alabama on December 6, 1947. She was the daughter of Lee Ottis and Mellie Pitts. Carolyn was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama and her Master’s Degree from the Citadel. Carolyn retired from Charleston County school district after many years of educating young minds.
She is survived by her husband, Rod Weader; daughter, Elyssa “Dixie” James; grandchildren, Brynlee, Everett and Baby boy on the way; sisters, Barbara Reeves and Cathy Pitts and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandsons; sister, Virginia Mitchell and 2 nephews.
