Carl H. Johnson Jr., 83, of Cummaquid passed away on November 12, 2023. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Carl. H. Johnson Sr. and Winnifred ( Caswell) Johnson.
He graduated from The Citadel in Charleston South Carolina, Class of 1961. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a commission in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant.
Carl served in the Army for 24 years, retiring in 1984 as a Lieutenant Colonel
He enjoyed golfing, boating and reading. He was an active member of the Hyannis Yacht Club, the Elks, Masons in Arlington, VA, the Shriners, ARABA in FL, Hyannis Housing. He was president and vice president and treasurer of the Coral Falls Condo Association, District commander and commander for Cape Cod Power Squadron.
In addition to being predeceased by his parents, he is also predeceased by his son, Carl H. Johnson III. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Judith Johnson, his son Curt Johnson and wife Kristen and three grandchildren Maggie, Connor and Jack.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
