Carlos Alberto Villafane, Sr., 50 of Hughesville, MD died on September 6, 2009 at his residence. Born on April 6, 1959 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the Ramon and Victoria Villafane. Mr. Villafane retired from the DC Air National Guard as Staff Sgt. He also served in the U.S. Navy before transferring to the DC Air National Guard. He is a Citadel Alumni graduating in 1981. He enjoyed watching ESPN and college sports. He enjoyed music and played the guitar but, mostly was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carmen Iris Villafane, children, Alexandra Irene Villafane and Carlos Alberto Villafane, Jr., and a brother, Ramon Villafane. Family will receive friends to Celebrate Carlos’s Life on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall where Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
