RUFF, JR., Brian Brian James Ruff, Jr., 21, of Charleston, SC passed away on Friday, January 18, 2008. The relatives and friends are invited to attend The Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at ten o’clock. The prayers of commendation and final farewell will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL on Monday from four until six o’clock. Brian was born August 4, 1986 in Charleston, SC and was the loving son of Brian James Ruff and Jody Gast Ruff and big brother to Robert Bobby Ruff. He was a 2004 graduate of West Ashley High School, a member of the football and wrestling teams, and active in the Drama Club. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America as a Life Scout. Brian was attending The Citadel, majoring in Civil Engineering. He was a proud member of the Class of 2008 and Charlie Company, Casual Cats. He enjoyed being on the water surfing, boating, fishing or just sitting on the beach with his friends. He loved to tell a good joke, had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. He was an avid guitar player and loved working on his 1971 Mustang. Brian touched many lives with his big heart and when called upon by his friends and classmates would drop what he was doing and give a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Besides his parents and brother, he is survived by his maternal grandfather, Edward S. Gast of Willow Street, PA; paternal grandfather, Dr. Robert W. Ruff of Mountainside, NJ; uncles, James E. Gast of Seaford, NY, William G. Ruff of Charleston, SC and Robert W. Ruff, Jr. of Springfield, MA and many cousins.
