WALTERS, Bradley Captain Bradley Edward Walters, 33, passed away August 16, 2007 when his Marine helicopter went down in the California mountains during a routine training exercise. Brad was born March 4, 1974 in Richardson, Texas and was raised in Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1992 and received his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The Citadel in 1998. After being commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, he completed flight training at Naval Air Station Pensacola and was stationed at Marine Corp Air Station Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. He was assigned to the Marine Light Helicopter Attack Squadron 367. Brad completed three deployments while in California, serving in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently stationed at Marine Corp Air Station in Yuma, Arizona, Brad flew UH-1N Huey helicopters and C12 planes for Search and Rescue. Brad is survived by his wife of seven years, Julie Brigman Walters and an infant daughter Catherine Elise Walters of Yuma, Arizona; his parents, Jeannine Walters, Richard Rick and Valerie Walters, all of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Victoria Vicki Junaid and Alexandra Andi Walters of Arlington, Texas, and Jennifer Walters of Missoula, Montana; and brother, Christopher Chris Walters of Arlington, Texas. The family will be receiving friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis, North Carolina on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 2:00pm at Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis. If desired, contributions in lieu of flowers may be mailed to: A.A.
