Arthur Densmore Art Ellington, Jr. Cornelia Arthur Densmore Art Ellington, Jr., age 72 of Cornelia died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born in Latta, SC. on July 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur Densmore, Sr. & Zaida Bishop Ellington. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran having served two complete tours of duty. He was a navigator on a fueling jet and achieved the rank of Captain in eight years of service. A 1957 graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, SC., he was a Quality Assurance Control Manager with Johnson & Johnson Corporation before he retired after 28 years of service. He was currently employed part-time at Habersham Hardware. An active member of Cornelia United Methodist Church, he was the Chairman of the Trustees as well as a member of the Chancellor Choir. In the late 60’s, he engineered a church youth group that grew quickly to include youth from several area churches. He as also preceded in death be his beloved wife, Jo Blanton Ellington. Surviving are his beloved second wife, Vivian Day Ellington of Cornelia; daughters, Donna Ellington Gramling of Lexington, SC., Laura Ellington Hulsey of Orangeburg, SC. and Rebecca Ellington of Winston Salem, NC.; stepson, Terry Day of Gainesville, sisters, Laura Ellington Ayers of Sumter, SC., and Chrissy Ellington Mark of Winchester, VA.; sister-in-law, Amy Roscoe of Hartsville, SC.; special aunt, Alice Bishop Gaddy of Latta, SC.; and grandchildren, Faith Gramling, Hope Gramling, Joy Gramling, Jack Gramling, Grace Gramling, William Hulsey, Jonathan Hulsey, Brandon Day, Hannah Day and Tayor Day. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2007 at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Reverend Charlie Green officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday. The family is at the residence.
