Dr. Amy Catherine Gibson Black, 46, of Hollywood, South Carolina, wife of Charles “Chuck” W. Black, Jr., entered into eternal rest Wednesday September 21, 2016. A Gathering of Friends will be held Sunday September 25, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Amy was born October 18, 1969 in Summit, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Royal Harris Gibson, Jr., and Kimberly Lawson Gibson. Amy was a graduate of Clemson University, The Citadel and MUSC College of Medicine. She was a Family Practitioner and partner with Palmetto Primary Care Physicians until her retirement this year. Dr. Black was loved by her patients, colleagues and was the recipient of numerous medical awards. Amy was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Chuck Black, daughter, Emma Corlies Black, son, Charlie Hampton Black all of Hollywood, SC; parents, Royal Harris Gibson, Jr., and Kimberly Lawson Gibson of James Island, SC; sister, Margaret Gibson of Moncks Corner, SC; two brothers, Andrew Gibson of Savannah, GA, and Jeff Amshalem of Sharon, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dabo’s All in Team Foundation, P.O. 1585, Clemson, S.C. 29633 and/or Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road., James Island, SC 29412.
