Alvin “Stewart” Hall Jr, age 80, of Orlando, went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 29, 2023 after a five year battle with cancer.
Stewart was married to his wife, Sandra, for 59 years. He was a wonderful father to two children: Shannon and Stewart III. He was loved dearly by his seven grandchildren: Leighton, Stephen, Brett, Graysen, Drayton, Britton, and Graham, as well as his great-granddaughter, Heyden. He was a constant and devoted presence in his family’s lives and he will always be their “Dedaddy”.

He graduated from Edgewater High School in 1960 and spent his undergraduate college years at the Citadel where he majored in Business Administration. He served as a Captain in the Air Force in the Accounting and Finance department until he moved back to Orlando to work for Hughes Supply. Stewart later got his MBA from Rollins College and two other Masters degrees from Texas A&M and Harvard University. Stewart retired from Hughes Supply in 2002 as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Stewart was very active in his faith and dedicated his life to serving First Baptist Church of Orlando. He served as a Sunday School Teacher, Personnel Committee Chairman, First Orlando Foundation Chairman, and Board of Trustees Chairman.
Stewart enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He had a deep love for music and was very talented. He played guitar, standup bass, and mandolin. Stewart also loved cheering on his Florida Gators in any and every sport, especially College Football.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any gifts be made as donations to Grace Medical to honor Stewart’s life. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made online at gracemedicalhome.org or check mailed to 1417 E Concord Street, Orlando, FL 32803.
