Age 73, of Haddonfield, NJ and Bonita Springs, Fla., a retired business executive, died of complications from melanoma, on August 27th at his home in New Jersey. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he lived most of his youth in Charleston, graduating from The Citadel in 1955. That same year he married Evelyn Belk and following his service to the Army he and his wife moved to New Jersey. In 1963, he and partner Charles Carite founded one of the leading waste disposal firms in New Jersey, Atlantic Disposal Services. Mr. White served as President of the firm for over 30 years until its sale to Atwoods, PLC. He was extremely active in the waste industry as a leader and spokesperson on regulatory and business issues. He served for a number of years on the Board of National Solid Waste Management Association in Washington. Mr. White was also active in the community and philanthropic causes. He served on the Board of the Jewish Geriatric Home in Cherry Hill, NJ for many years and was a member of Temple Beth Sholom, also in Cherry Hill. An avid golfer throughout his life, he was a fixture at Woodcrest Country Club. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, sons Michael and Adam, daughters-in-law Sharon and Susan, and three grandchildren, Lisa, Aaron and Jordan.
