Alfred Woodrow Seidel, II, 67, of 503 Whitehall Road, Camden, NC, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at his home. Born in Danville, P.A., he was the son of the late Alfred Woodrow and Dorothy Mae Davis Seidel and was the husband of Judy Sue Seidel. Mr. Seidel was retired as a Commander from the United States Coast Guard after a long, decorated career. He was a U.S. Army Ranger, having served with the 1st of the 9th Calvary in Vietnam. In 1968, Mr. Seidel received a B.S. degree in physics from the Citadel. He was the first American pilot to earn his British Wings. In addition to his wife, Mr. Seidel is survived by two sons, Eric Alfred Seidel and wife Kathryn Leigh of Wilmington, and Matthew Woodrow Seidel of Camden; a sister, Ann Viau and husband Peter of Winchester, V.A.; three grandchildren, Addison Lane Seidel, Cohen Jack Seidel & Keagan Andrew Seidel. Our external spiritual self is more real than anything we perceive in this physical realm and has a divine connection to the infinite love of the Creator. A memorial service will take place Thursday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the residence, 503 Whitehall Road, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina, P.O. Box 1772, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27906; or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
