Obituary:

Marion Eason Chapman, Jr., 80, of Charleston, SC, passed away on August 20, 2022.

Eason was born on March 24, 1942, to Charligne Hall Chapman and Marion Eason Chapman, Sr. in Roanoke, VA. He attended the Citadel, graduating in 1964 in Civil Engineering. He was licensed in 14 states working at American Bridge and Vulcraft before opening his own company in the print finishing business in 1975. He retired at the age of 62 and his oldest son, David, took over and is still operating the business today.

Eason enjoyed many things in life. He was on the Board of Directors for the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA), Rotary Club member, volunteer at Stono Ferry, President of the Florence Booster Club, Episcopal church volunteer and a die hard Steelers fan. He also helped start the Citadel Class of 1964 Scholarship Fund. The first award was made in 2010.

Eason is survived by his wife, Mary Chapman, and children David Chapman (Mary) of Beaufort, SC, Katie Chapman Butka (David) of Charleston, SC and Adam Chapman (Tricia) of Austin, TX and granddaughter, Anna Chapman of Charlotte, NC.
