July 2013 - Retired from Executive Jet Management (EJM) after twenty-five plus years.
1988-2013 - Captain for Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway, NetJets® company. Additional duties included Chief Pilot, Ground and Flight Instructor, Lead Pilot, and Safety Manager. EJM is a management and charter company under FAR parts 135 and 91. Services include domestic and international business aircraft under management and on-demand charter. FAA Safety Program Counselor for the Cincinnati FSDO, 1996 Safety Counselor of the Year.
1984-1988 - Chief Pilot and Captain for Continental Express/Air New Orleans (ANO) and Captain for Provincetown-Boston Airline (PBA). Increasing responsibilities included direct supervision for up to 75 pilots operating 100+ scheduled daily flights over a four-state region. Additional duties included ground and flight instruction as well as conducting checkrides as an FAA designated checkairman.
(Feb. 1981-Nov. 1982) - Following a forced landing in Africa, held in communist POW prisons for over 22 months. Released in exchange negotiated by the International Red Cross for nearly one hundred Soviet, Cuban and Angolan prisoners-of-war. Details on request.
1979-1984 - International Captain for Globe Aero Ltd. Delivered new and used aircraft to Europe, South Pacific, Asia, Africa, and South America. Extensive international experience and 75+ solo transoceanic crossings. Numerous acceptance tests and demonstration flights for civilian and military customers.
1978-1979 - Staff Flight Instructor for FlightSafety International. Ground, simulator and flight instruction for U.S. and foreign students (primary and advanced) as well as airline contract training.
1971-1978 - Active duty as a Regular Officer, U.S. Army. Command and staff positions in the United States, Far East and Middle East. Last active duty assignment was with the U.S. Military Mission, Tehran, Iran. Extensive overseas experience. Reserve commission accepted in 1978.
