Nathan Delph

This sword was first carried by Mr. Nathan Delph who designed and fabricated its unique handle and quillon. The handle is constructed from a solid billet of aluminum turned on a lathe and features a brass service cap device affixed to either side. One other example of this handle exists and it was presented to Major General John S. Grinalds, USMC, Ret. in 2006 by Mr. Delph. The quillon features an inlaid brass service cap button on one side. Mr. Delph was a member of the Men's Rifle Team from 2004-2008, lettering two years. He carried this sword while serving as the Team's Captain from 2006 -2008 and as the First Battalion Provost Marshal from 2007 -2008. The sword was also carried during the dedication ofThe Citadel Marksmanship Center as Inouye Hall in 2007.
