Abigail Robinson Bacon, 67, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Mount Pleasant. Born September 6, 1950, in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of Alfred E Bacon Jr. MD and Joan Truss Bacon. Abigail graduated from The Tatnall School in Wilmington, and received her BA from Wellesley College in Massachusetts. She earned her Masters degrees from Virginia Tech and from The Citadel, and worked in economic and municipal planning. At various times in her career, she was employed by the Charleston County Planning Department, the City of Charleston Planning Department, Trident College Planning Department, the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments, and the City of North Charleston Planning Department. Abigail is survived by her husband of 38 years, Clark Hobbie of Mount Pleasant; her brother, Alfred E Bacon III MD and his wife Liz of Wilmington, DE; her sister, Susan Bacon Dynerman of Memphis, TN; her cousin Jay Smith and his wife, Karen, of Alexandria, VA; her stepdaughter, Kate Hobbie and her husband, Howard Lagoze, of Burlingame, CA; her stepson, Clark Nelson Hobbie and his wife, Sue, of Aurora, CO; and her stepgrandson, Jacob Miles Lagoze and his wife, Ciara, of New York, NY.
