Aaron Frederick Spence, went to be with the Lord Jesus on November 24, 2000. Survivors include myself, Gail Fisher Spence of Richmond; his father, Franklin Shelby Spence of Emporia; his brother, Stephen Joseph Spence; his sister, Joanna Spence, both of Richmond; his stepmother, Bootsie Spence of Emporia; his maternal grandmother, Leola Fisher; stepgrandparents, Gladys and Wilson Hobbs and paternal grandparents, Frank and Nellie Spence, all of Southampton County; many other family members, including two half brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many precious friends. Aaron graduated from Fork Union Military Academy and attended the Citadel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (tonight) and 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday at Owen Funeral Home in Jarratt, Va., where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2000. Interment Drewryville Cemetery. Memorial services will also be held at Fork Union Military Academy and the Citadel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fork Union Military Academy, P.O. Box 278, Fork Union, Va. 23055 for the establishment of a student scholarship fund or to Richmond Christian Fellowship, 4424 Huguenot Rd., Richmond, Va. 23235 to provide bibles for international students.
