Albert Scott Madding III, of Simpsonville, died August 18, 2008. Scott loved and served his family. He honored his parents and parents-in-law, was faithful to his wife, was devoted to his two daughters, and adored his 4 grandchildren, and he opened his heart to almost 70 foster children. Scott loved and served Christ’s Church, as Sunday school teacher, college coordinator, member of the Board of Stewards, Annual Conference delegate, missions’ team, homebound Communion server, and Promise Keeper. Scott loved and served his country as a Captain in the US Army Signal Corps from 1969 through 1986. Scott loved and served our youth as an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader for 35 years, founder of the Issaqueena YMCA Princes tribe, softball coach, Greenville Tech and Spartanburg Dist 7 Advisory committee, Junior Achievement Advisor, and volunteer for Miracle Hill Boy’s home. Scott loved and served the community as a Board Member of Simpsonville Emergency Relief, United Way volunteer / board member / speakers bureau, participant in 30 building mission / Habitat for Humanity projects, and served on the Greenville County Elections Team. Scott loved and served the business community as a Greenville Chamber of Commerce committee /industrial recruiter / Benefits Committee founder, Instructor for SC Technical Education’s new employee training, Freedom Weekend Aloft volunteer, Community Emergency Response Team, human resource manger /trainer/ coach for several major corporations, and policy developer for employee-friendly policies.
