He was born August 23, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Isadore Solomon and Katie Coplan Solomon. Bernard graduated from The Citadel as well as the University of South Carolina School of Law, using his education to lead an extremely well-respected career as an Attorney at Law. His enthusiasm permeated all of his endeavors and lead him to being very active within the local Jewish Community, even serving as a past President of Synagogue Emanu-El and President of B’nai B’rith. Additionally he served as Attorney on Board of the Y.W.C.A of downtown Charleston and as a trustee of the Saul Alexander Foundation.
