Paul James Brannigan, of Clermont, Fla., born March 4, 1937 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Clermont, Florida on March 24, 2022. Paul served our nation as a member of the United States Navy, attaining the rank of Command Master Chief Petty Officer before retiring. Paul then attended the Citadel earning a bachelors degree and continuing his service to the nation as a government servant. Paul was active in the Catholic Church throughout his life, starting as an alter boy, culminating in his service at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church as a Eucharistic minister and finance committee member for many years. He was also a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, enjoying nearly 50 cruises and enjoyed participating in the Kings Ridge Men’s club and a local bowling league. Paul is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Elaine, and their three children: Karen (Todd), Kevin (Judy) and Patrick (Teresa), along with 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rose and his older brother Jack Brannigan. A Catholic Mass will be held for Paul at 11AM Thursday April 7, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, followed by visitation at Becker Funeral Home from 2 to 4pm. Internment service will be held on April 8, 2022 at Bushnell National Cemetery at 2:30pm.
