Russell J. Parker Sr., 88, a longtime resident of Tucker, Ga., died peacefully on January 8, 2022. Russ was the son of Vernon S. Parker and Ruth Arbuthnot Parker. Russ graduated from Miami Senior High School in Miami, FL. He graduated from The Citadel in 1955. He served two years with the Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He graduated from Emory Law School in 1963. After working with Southern Bell, he joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. He later worked with Cobb County as an Assistant DA. Russ was a founding member of Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville, GA. He is currently a member of Tucker First Methodist Church in Tucker, GA. Russ is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Libby) Moseley Parker, brother Robert V. Parker and children, Beth Parker Rich, Carolann Parker Kitchens (Danny), and Russell Parker Jr. (Kimberley). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Regan Rich, Jordan Rich, Parker Kitchens, Patrick Kitchens, Franklin Parker and step grandson, Alden Rich. A graveside service will be held at Burke Cemetery in Stockbridge, GA on Friday January 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Reverend David Harper officiating.
