Francis Stanhope “Stan” Gale, Jr., 77, of Moncks Corner, passed away Wednesday August 25, 2021. Stan was born October 21, 1943 in Chester, SC a son of Francis S. Gale, Sr. and Mary Catherine Pope Gale. A graduate of Erskine College, Stan also went on to receive his Masters from The Citadel. He began his career teaching at Macedonia High School. He helped establish Bonneau and Oakley Vocational Schools, later retiring from Berkeley County District Office after 30 years as Director of Vocational Education. Stan was a Gideon and served in the US Army Reserves for many years. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, spending time in his shed doing wood and metal work, he will be sadly missed. Surviving are a sonTripp Gale of Pinopolis; daughterHope Belk and her husband, Alan, of Moncks Corner; two grandsonsEllis Gale and Avery Belk. In addition to his parents, Stan is predeceased by his beloved aunt Lorraine Gale”Aunt Rainey”, whom he was very close to. His graveside service will be held in Union Cemetery, 3594 Lancaster Hwy, Richburg, SC 29729, Monday August 30, 2021 at 3 o’clock. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, the morning of August 30 from 10 to 11 o’clock.
