Upon graduating from Yonkers High School in 1960, he enrolled at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, a school that he would love and support throughout his life. After leaving the service, he began his career as a research chemist, first with American-Cyanamid Company in Bound Brook, and later with American Home Products, Wyeth, and Pfizer. He received his Doctorate in Chemistry from Seton Hall University in 1981. He retired in 2002, after which he and Ann traveled the world with family and friends, enjoying memorable trips to Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia. He had a sharp and inquisitive mind, and his many hobbies included model railroading, music, and the Civil War. He was an avid sports fan, especially his beloved football Giants. He enjoyed spending time with a wide circle of friends, both on his back patio at home in North Plainfield, or at their condo in Charleston. Bob was strong in his faith.
