Jorge Ann Loa, (Jorgie), 53, of Summerville, wife of Douglas Loa, was surrounded by loved ones when she was called home on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2:58 AM. Family, friends and loved ones are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 2:00 at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Beaufort National Cemetery. Jorgie was born on January 5, 1968 in Fort Worth, TX, to Bill Thomas and Sharon Chavez but was raised by the late Rafael and Sharon Chavez. Jorgie was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Business; she also received an MBA from The Citadel. Jorge Ann retired as a U.S. Naval Officer after faithfully serving her country for 20 years. She loved horseback riding, walking outdoors, walking on the beach, traveling and people watching. Jorgie’s smile was the brightest and the most beautiful when she had her family, friends and her babies around her. She was a proud member of Summerville Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to Jorgie’s husband Douglas are: three children: Benjamin Leo Loa of Charleston, Brandon Michael Loa of Summerville, and Bailey Christian Loa of Summerville; two siblings: Julie White (John) of Joshua, TX and Joseph Thomas (Christina) of Maricopa, AZ; 11 nieces and nephews: Rachelle White, Sarah White, Matthew White, Michaela Langord, Isaac Thomas, Melina Thomas, Jessica Loa, Emily Loa, Sydney Loa, Falaniko Loa and Maya Loa. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by: grandparents: Buddy “Papa” Leo and Marjorie “Ney” Helen Moseley.
