Paul Henry Hass, age 87, of Schertz, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born March 29, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina to Hazel and Henry Hass. Paul graduated from the Citadel with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1956 and earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1961. After graduation from the Citadel, Paul served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1981 rising to the rank of Colonel. After retirement from the Air Force, he served at Providence High School, as a member of the faculty and Assistant Principal from 1982 until 2002. Following his retirement from Providence, Paul served as Treasurer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for 10 years. He was a lifelong Episcopalian. He was proceeded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Roberts; brother, Hugh Hass; and son, David G. Hass. Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Hass; son, Paul H. Hass, Jr; daughter, Dawn Michaels; sister, Millie Roberts; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. MEMORIAL SERVICE TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 2021 11:00 AM ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH 1018 E. GRAYSON ST.
