Glenn Douglas “Doug” Brines, of Concord, N.C., passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, after fifty-four years of marriage to Joan Pickler Brines.
He was born May 18, 1939 to the late James E. and Irene Bostic Brines. Doug was a 1962 graduate of The Citadel Military College. After working for Fieldcrest Cannon for 25 years, Doug owned and operated The Clock and Lamp Shoppe in Concord.
Doug was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted and Ralph Brines. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by nieces and nephews, Maurice and Teresa Brines, Rusty and Teresa Brines, Jill and Ray Platt, Ray Carl Pickler, Jr. and wife, Vickie; brother-in-law, Jack Stevens, sister-in-law, Patty White; extended family members; and his special friends, Richard Prestwood, Darrell Helms, Brian Freeman, and Mike Pruett.
Doug and I appreciate the wonderful care of Hospice.
A private service will be held and the family requests no flowers.
