Earl E. “Jack” Jackson III of Walterboro, South Carolina died on July 27, 2026.
Born June 25, 1944, Jack was the son of the late Ret. Col. Earl E. Jackson Jr. and Frances Moore Jackson of Florence, Alabama.
Jack attended The Citadel as a member of The Class of 1966, leaving during his junior year to marry Antonia Prioleau Paul in 1964. They raised three boys, and he went on to build a career in finance in New York City, serving as Managing Director at both Kidder, Peabody & Co. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1980 to 2000. Beyond his corporate career, he was a natural entrepreneur who pursued numerous business ventures throughout his life.
A devoted member of St. Jude’s Church in Walterboro, Jack was an avid sailor and hunter who cherished time spent outdoors.
Jack is survived by his sons, Edward Jackson, Charles Jackson, and William Jackson (wife, Molly).
He is also survived by his grandchildren Suzanne, Julia, Fred, Chisolm, and Sadie, and great-grandson Riley.
A service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at St. Jude’s Church, Walterboro, South Carolina, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately by the family.
