Leo Leonard Andy, Jr., age 81, of Tracy City, Tenn., died Friday, October 25, 2019. Survivors include Brenda Andy (wife), Leo Leonard Andy III married to Kelly Andy, James Layman Andy (son) married to Audra Andy, and two grandsons James Garrison and Thomas Leo. Leo was in the United States Army and served two separate tours in Vietnam. The earlier tour was with the Military Assistance and Advisory Group, (MAAG) and the second tour with Military Assistance Command, Viet-Nam (MACV). Leo’s last assignment was Commanding General of the Tennessee State Guard, based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Leo attended Greenbrier Military High School in Lewisburg, WV, The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina and The University of Tennessee Graduate School in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Leo was the Veterans Service Officer for Grundy County, member of the American Legion Post #74; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 15044; Clinton Lodge # 47 F&AM Massillon, Ohio; York Rite; Shriners; Scottish Rite (32 Degree); and the First United Methodist Church in Tracy City, Tennessee.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM., EST, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children Research Hospital, and Samaritan’s Purse.
