Jerry Cornelious Barlowe, ,of Edgewater, Fla., passed away at the age of 93 on February 16, 2026. He was born in Dallas, NC on April 21, 1932. Jerry has been a resident of St. Lucie County since 1968 and currently lives in Edgewater, FL. He graduated from Gastonia NC High School in 1951, attended The Citadel, and graduated from Belmont Abbey. He earned his master’s degree at Appalachian State University, Boone NC and his Education Specialists Degree from Nova University Jerry started as a math teacher and was a Principal in North Carolina schools before moving to St. Lucie County in 1968. He served as assistant principal in St. Lucie Junior High School, Principal of Dan McCarty Middle School for 17 years and White City Elementary for 10 years, retiring in 1998.
Jerry traveled extensively with his wife Linda from the Eiffel Tower to the Great Pyramids of Egypt. He served on the Board of Supervisors for St. Lucie West service district for 10 years. Jerry is predeceased by his mother and father Artie Lee and Walt Barlowe, his beloved son Craig, brother Bill and sister June. He leaves his beloved wife Linda, daughter Beth, son and daughter in law Pete and Alishia Austin and grandchildren Travis, Megan and Peter, and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Haisley Funeral home in Port St. Lucie on Monday February 23, 2026 at 2 pm. Jerrys final resting place will be at White City Cemetery close to other family members.
