Elaine Doris Hoffman Cremer, 85, of Weeki Wachee, Fla., passed away on January 16, 2019 at home. She was born in Amityville, NY on December 8, 1933. She was a surprise to her parents, Louise and Samuel Hoffman, as her sister and brother were born in 1916 and 1918 respectfully. She married George S Cremer II (d) on October 7, 1951. Elaine accompanied George as they moved from East Northport, NY to Walterboro, SC, to Valdosta, Ga, back to Walterboro, and then to Andrews, SC, as she would have followed him anywhere. It was in Andrews, when her children started college that Elaine decided to become a teacher. She graduated from the University of South Carolina Magna Cum Laude, while raising a family and working full time. She continued her education, earning her Master’s Degree from The Citadel, while working as a teacher. When George retired they moved to Central, SC where she continued teaching, for she loved it so much. When she retired in 1999, they moved to Weeki Wachee, Fl. She enjoyed renewing years old friendships and playing Bridge, Mah Jongg, and Bingo. In 2017, she lost the love of her life, George S. Cremer II. Together they raised 4 children, Deborah Spitzer (Bob), George S. Cremer III (Debby), Barbara Young (Michael) and Lynn Nagel (Bill). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church on February 1, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to HPH Hospice or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
