Charles D. (Chuck) Webb, 86, formerly of Hanahan, went to be with his Lord on May 14, 2018 in Hospice House, Bowling Green, KY. He was born July 24, 1931 in Gastonia, NC to the late Charlie D. and Eva Smith Webb Chuck graduated from North Charleston High School in 1949, after which he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the Citadel with a BS in Business. Chuck was particularly proud that he was on the Dean’s List the entire time he was at the Citadel. Following his graduation, he began a 35 year career at the U.S. Naval Shipyard at Charleston as a computer programmer/analyst Chuck enjoyed bowling, golfing and daily walking around his neighborhood in Hanahan, along with some of his neighbors He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of North Charleston, but in the last year he had not been able to attend because of his dementia He is survived by a sister, Geraldine (Robert) Box of Edmonton, KY, a niece and two nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and two great-great nephews A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Carolina Memorial Funeral home on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 am. Chuck chose cremation, so there will be no graveside service The family requests in lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Care of South Carolina would be appreciated.
