Pat Nash, resident of Altamonte Springs, formerly of Orlando, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2018, at South Seminole Hospital, Longwood, FL. He was formerly a member of the Sanlando United Methodist Church. Pat was born in Clearwater, FL, on August 23, 1930, son of John Wesley Nash and Mary Louise Newman. He attended the public schools of Orange County, and was a graduate of Orlando High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Citadel in Charleston, SC and maintained a deep fondness for the school throughout his life. He proudly served for two years in the U. S. Army. He was united in matrimony to the former Peggy Anne Siewert on June 1, 1956, at the Knowles Memorial Chapel in Rollins College, Winter Park, FL. Pat began his professional career as a management trainee at JCPenney in downtown Orlando. He moved on to the construction industry, accepting a sales position at the Portland Cement Association. He was named project manager of the Spring Hill, FL, land development by the Deltona Corporation, moving with his family to Brooksville, FL, in the 1970’s. He retired as a vice-president at C. A. Meyer Paving & Construction, Orlando, in 1990. Pat enjoyed building things, especially boats and radio-controlled model airplanes. In his later years, he crafted furniture and toys for his grandchildren. He grew up in a bygone era of old Florida, riding his horse each week to Sunday school. In his youth he was a skilled water skier and often shared loving memories of boating on Little Lake Conway with his brother, Jack. He also enjoyed camping and scouting, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and later servings as a scoutmaster. Pat is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy, Altamonte Springs, and three children: Sandra (Nash) LeBlanc, Casselberry; Scott, Coconut Creek, FL; and Kelly, Canton, GA. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Tanner LeBlanc, Jenna Nash, Tyler Nash, Paige Nash, and Wesley Nash. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Nash and one child, Michael Patrick Nash.
