William “Bill” Vincent Gordon, Jr., 85, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2018.
Bill was born in Greensboro, NC to the late William V. Gordon, Sr. and Mary Henrietta Benitoa-Gordon. He was also predeceased by his beloved brother, James Gordon, Sr.
He graduated from the Citadel in 1957 and went on to complete his pharmacy degree at the Pharmacy School of Charleston SC. Over the years, Bill was a pharmacist in South Carolina, Florida and Virginia where he retired in 2010 from Rite Aid. Throughout his career he was known for his integrity and professionalism.
He moved to Hampton Roads over 25 years ago to be near his son and his family. He loved learning and telling stories of growing up to his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren. He loved to talk to them and joke with them, making them smile and laugh.
He is survived by his son William Vincent Gordon, III (Darlene) of Chesapeake, VA; daughter Kathy Maley (Terry) of Little Elm TX; four grandchildren, Stephanie Gordon, William Gordon IV, Joshua Gordon and Rachel Harvey; niece, Nesha Conlon and nephew, James Gordon Jr. both of Charleston, SC; as well as eight great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday February 22, 2018 at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Rd. Chesapeake, VA 23322. Rev. Claude Parent will officiate.
