Benjamin E. White, of MacClesfield, NC, died Oct 14, 2017. He was born and raised in Orlando, FL. As a young man he and his brothers would enjoy themselves in the unspoiled lakes, rivers and marsh areas of central Florida where they were affectionately known as “The Swamp Rats”. After graduating from Edgewater High School, Ben attended the Citadel Military College in Charleston, SC. He then joined the United States Airforce and was stationed at Craig AFB outside of Selma, Alabama. Advancing through the ranks he was transferred to Lowry AFB in Denver, CO where he completed his military career. Ben served with honor and distinction achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Shortly after his discharge, he took a job with International Harvester. Moving on to bigger and better things he then went to work for John Deere Co. Ben and his wife later moved to Grove City, OH where they continued to raise their family. Some years later, the family relocated to NC where they would finally settle. Ben was an avid outdoorsman, so this suited him just fine. He continued his career in the farm equipment industry retiring from Whites-Herring Tractor & Truck of Wilson in the fall of 2006. Ben has enjoyed living out his later years in the town of Macclesfield, NC where his friends and neighbors have become more like an extended family than anything else. Ben is survived by his three children, Vicki White-Sklark, Benjamin “Bo” White and Daniel “Theo” White along with their Mother Edna White. In addition, his Daughterin-laws Rachel White, Gabriella White and Son-in-law Mike Sklark along with Grand Children Mason, Samantha, Mateo and Ethan.
