William Harley Ford, Sr., 79, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on September 9, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helena M. Kimberlin and William H. Ford.
Born in Florida, Harley attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina and later earned his Baccalaureate Degree from Florida State University.
Harley was a successful businessman and entrepreneur who ran his own company for over 40 hours years.
In his leisure time, Harley enjoyed motorcycling, flying, boating, and spending time with his family.
Harley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Vann Ford; his sister Sara Jo Lloyd (David ); his son, William H. Ford, Jr. (Rhonda); his daughter Erin S. Whitehead (Tim); his son Kenneth A. Ford (Susan); his daughter Amy K. Lucas (Jeff); his eleven grandchildren; his six great grandchildren; and other loved ones including Marie Annette Donaghue (James); his friends and caregivers Thomas Watkins, Jr. and Kassie Jordan.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Thursday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local hospice or Alzheimer’s association.
