Jack Hauser, 72, peacefully passed over July 27 at his home of 31 years in Brighton, Colo. Although a non-smoker, Jack was stricken with lung cancer in January 2017.
He was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Long Branch, N.J., to Lorraine (Hulshart) Hauser and James H. Hauser. He graduated from The Citadel in South Carolina in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in education.
In 1969, Jack went to work for Western Electric Co. (later Lucent Technologies) in New Jersey and relocated to the Denver area plant in 1970.
He was a manager at that company for 31 years before retiring in 2000.
Jack and his wife moved to a lovely ranch house in Brighton in 1986, where the couple resided until his death. He loved working around the home on two acres and enjoying life to the fullest. He was a terrific golfer and played with friends and family until his retirement.
His big passion, though, was the outdoors, and the West was the place for him. He loved to fly fish for trout, hunt various birds – especially turkeys – go on hikes with friends and family, and travel in the family trailer with his wife all over the country, especially the Southwest.
Jack leaves behind his wife and devoted partner of 34 years, Laurie Bouche Hauser; a sister, Carolyn Hudson of Bowie, Md.; two brothers-in-law, Erick Wilson and Steve Hill. of Broomfield; and several special nieces and nephews. His parents and sister-in-law, Linda Woodyard, preceded him in death.
