Wesley S. (Wes) Todd passed peacefully surrounded by family at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc, WI, on August 23, 2017, at the age of 96.
Born in Wauwatosa on June 26, 1921, he attended Wauwatosa High School and The Citadel military college in Charleston, SC. Wes proudly served his country in WWII as a Marine carrier-based fighter pilot, and retired as a Major. He remained an avid aviator for his entire life, competing in aerobatic contests until 80 years of age.
After the war, Wes started his own company, Engine Power, Inc., and was President and CEO until his retirement and sale of the company in 1968.
He met Ann Hathaway at a summer party in Pewaukee shortly after the war and they remained married until her passing in 1988.
Upon moving to Oconomowoc Lake in 1951, Wes fell in love with the game of tennis. He built a tennis court at home and enjoyed the competition for 50 years.
Wes was preceded in death by brother Harold A. Todd, Ann H. Todd and Ruth (Toby) Taber Todd. He is survived by children Peter (Susan) Todd, Scott (Jeanne) Todd, Mary (Ted) McCabe, Jeffrey (Sandra) Todd, and nephew Michael Todd. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with service at 1:00 PM at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc with a private burial to follow for the family.
