Bob Gary, 55 of Charlotte, died Monday, May 22, 2017 due to an accident. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor John J. McSweeney on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Sanctuary of St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte NC 28277. His family will receive friends for the hour preceding the service as well as at a reception following the service. Bob was born May 20, 1962 in Maryland to Becky Beckman Plummer and the late Robert E. Gary, Sr. He was a proud graduate of the class of 1984 at The Citadel in Charleston SC. He also proudly served his country in the US Army for six years. Bob worked for Alliant Insurance Services in Commercial Lines Sales. With his son Wyatt, Bob enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts. His survivors include his wife, Jennifer Murray Gary of Charlotte; his children, Savanna, Kathleen, and Wyatt; his mother Becky Plummer of Kansas; and his brothers, Brett, Blake, Tom and Brad; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family asks that memorials in memory of Bob be given to the Gary Children’s Educational Trust Fund either mailed to P.O. Box 203, Indian Trail NC 28079 or left at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
