Sebastian Linares Grainger, 27, single, of the Catholic faith, of Charleston passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born in Guatemala, the son of Fernando Linares Beltranena and Carmen Maria Grainger Soberon. Sebastian was a graduate of The Citadel where he received his degree in Business Administration and Modern Languages transferring from Camden Military Academy, Camden,S.C., and Robert Land Military Academy in Canada. He was presently attending The Citadel in order to receive a Master’s Degree in Leadership. He was a member of the National Guard.
Sebastian is survived by his father, Fernando Linares Beltranena, his mother, Carmen Maria Grainger Soberon, both of Guatemala; his sister, Crista Linares Grainger of Charleston; his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Carmen Grainger of Nichols; his paternal grandmother Lucy Beltranena de Linares of Guatemala City, uncles, Eddy (Donna) Soberon of Tifton, Georgia, Edgar Ruben Soberon of Blumenau, Brazil, and Charlie Grainger, Jr. of Nichols; aunts, Jackie Grainger of Salisbury, North Carolina, Ruth Soberon and Gladys Soberon, both of Guatemala, and cousins, Laurie Ann Grainger, and Mackenzie and Mikela Waller of Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Nate Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
