William Cosimo Sansone, 85, of Millersville, Md., passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis on November 9, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Bill was born on September 29, 1939, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Mildred and Salvatore Sansone. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years including two tours in Vietnam. He then served 22 years in the United States Coast Guard, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, and retired after 30 years of active-duty service. Bill worked a second 30-year career as a tax preparer for H & R Block. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Fishing and Hunting Club, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, and cheering on the Ravens. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his granddaughters, while he supported them with their many activities and endeavors.
Bill was predeceased by his devoted wife, Jacquelyn N. Sansone who passed away in 1997. He is survived by his beloved children, Doug (Jennie) Sansone and Debbie (Bill) Sansone; cherished granddaughters, Alison (Andrew) Briggs, Jacque (Chris) Sunstrom, Bridgette Sunstrom, Bridgette (Josh) Smith, Emily (Ryan) Lebel and Meghan Cook; and dear siblings Paul (Peggy) Sansone and Linda Mitchell.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W., (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Saturday, November 23, from 1:00 pm till the start of the Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 pm. Bill’s interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
