Jack Dempster Drake, of Lafayette, LA, passed away at his home August 31, 2016 after a long illness. He was 77 years old. He grew up in Charleston, SC and attended The Citadel. After graduation he joined the Army and moved to New Orleans as an Army Special Intelligence Agent. He was employed in the financial industry for 50 years and moved to Lafayette, LA in 1977. He was an active board member of the Boy Scouts and the Lafayette Library and was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and the Petroleum Club. He is survived by his wife JoAnn and his two daughters Jill Drake of Lafayette and Jennifer Drake Dunaway and her husband Ken and three grandchildren, Kenley, Drake, and Hayes of Madisonville, LA. His brother William Drake also survives him. There will be a private family service.
