Constantine J. “Dino” Manos, 87, passed away peacefully August 28, 2024 on Daniel Island, SC. Born February 21, 1937, in Charleston, SC. Dino was a dedicated attorney whose career spanned over half a century and was a beloved figure in Charleston’s real estate and legal communities. Dino was the son of Greek immigrants, Jim and Chrysanthe Manos, a role model to his sister, Lia and brother, Ted, and when not in school, worked at his parents’ corner grocery store, where he learned their values of hard work and treating people with respect which served him well through his life. He attended Porter Military Academy through 11th grade and graduated from St. Andrews High, where he operated the sometimes frowned upon “Dino’s Casino”. He earned his ring and degree in history from the Citadel in 1959 and was a varsity athletic trainer for all four years. After graduation, he faithfully served his country in the Army earning the rank of Captain before receiving an Honorable Discharge. After graduating law school from the University of South Carolina, Dino specialized in real estate law (ably supported by his longtime legal assistants and friends, Donna and Nancy) and served as an assistant Charleston County Attorney for decades. His dedication, knowledge and good nature made him a respected figure among his peers and clients with whom he established lifelong friendships and business relationships. Outside of his professional life, Dino devoured novels and had a special passion for poker. He particularly enjoyed his weekly games with his cherished friends known as “The Greek 6,” a tradition they maintained for over three decades. The group were recognizable around Charleston by their license plates, a token of their enduring camaraderie established in the late 1970s. As a Charlestonian that grew up during the 1940s and 50s, Dino also loved beach music and showing off his unique shagging skills. The Citadel played an instrumental role in Dino’s life where he made lifelong friendships, was an avid fan of the Bulldogs’ sports teams, and a proud member of The Brigadier Club. Dino was also a lifetime supporter of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, where he began as an altar boy, served as President of the Community, and volunteered countless hours of his legal services. He was also a longtime member of the Exchange Club of Charleston, and particularly proud of his role in constructing its first concession shed at the fairgrounds in Ladson despite his notable inability to properly use any tools except perhaps for a hammer. Dino will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife, Connie of Mt. Pleasant; his children and grandchildren, Jimmy Manos of Phoenix, AZ and Teddy Manos (Traci), Alexis and Evan of Mt. Pleasant; and his stepchildren and grandchildren, Josh Barouh (Jamie), Ava and Oliva of Austin, TX, Linda Kelly of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Imbus (Rob) of Isle of Palms, SC, John K.
